Kommunikationsnetzwerke per CAN

Since March 2015 Miunske is a member of the CAN in Automation e.V. The CiA e.V. promotes CAN technology, developed CANopen specifications and supports all standardized CAN-based protocols.

The following bus specific properties characterizes the Miunske CAN world.

Network structure

The choice of the CAN network structure for a full or partial system has a very large influence on the effectiveness of an application or machine. A CAN network, which is designed with foresight and sustainability, lays the foundation for a modular platform.
Miunske has returned a long-term experience in the wide variety of applications in the commercial vehicle industry. When changing from proven electronics structures to communication-enabled structures modular numerous previews are required. The main aspects of these considerations are:

  • Summary of individual functions to function modules
  • Differentiation of functional models for standard functions and optional functional units
  • Space optimization by electronic hubs
  • Production optimization by reducing the cabling effort
  • Service Relevance of functional models

Are these aspects well thought out, the foundation has been laid for flexible platform. So developments are sustainably supported on the vehicle, because these are now implemented with relatively little effort.
At the same time can be reacted with positive economic effects flexibly to customer requests.

Secure communication

Secure communication is a basic requirement for communication networks nowadays. The Miunske product range offers countless opportunities to legal requirements and safety standards to respond. Technical possibilities are, for example, the current monitoring of individual functions, a monitorable device status with fallback or the Data plausibility by redundant signal output.

Control and regulating behavior

Control systems that operate within a communication network over multiple subsystems, bring the problem of temporal asynchrony of input/output signals and with itself. Our controller-based products provide the ability to synchronize functional, thus reducing idle times through the connection between safe and fault-tolerant communication to a minimum. Signal acquisition times can be accurately determined in order to be considered as a static parameter in the scheme.

User interface (service)

Interfaces are the basis for continuous development. Also for the service required interfaces in the form of measurement points or communication accesses are required. For complex systems it is often necessary to provide a number of different interfaces. Often a distinction is made between service and development interface. Not to be forgotten are the user interfaces that bring many visual or audible directly and effortlessly functional states for display. What is meant here as a backup failure monitoring via display or LED display. Communication via CAN offers numerous possibilities the need for interfaces cover.
